Greetings All,

Today, Bill Tweit and I started at Tamarack Ranch, which was incredibly birdy
in the juniper/russian olive hedgerow sections. We also went to Jumbo
Reservoir, which was iced up, but had thousands of geese chilling on the ice.
Then we went down to Haxtun and finished at Holyoke

The rarest birds of day were
1 FIELD SPARROW, possibly of eastern race, at Holyoke... at the Lyons Fishing
Hole, just e. of town on US 6.
1 SNOW x CACKLING GOOSE on Jumbo Res
1 SNOW x CANADA GOOSE in fields at Red Lion SWA
15 BH Cowbirds in field just nw. of Haxtun
3 GC Kinglets at Haxtun Park
1 Brown Creeper at Haxtun Park
We also had WW Juncos at 3 locations in Logan and Phillips, which seems unusual
for mid-winter

We had no "rarities" at Tamarck, excluding the local specialties of N Cardinal
(7) and RB Woodpecker (5)
But we did have HUGE numbers of birds including
1555 American Robins
48 N Flickers
54 Eastern Bluebirds
230 Dark-eyed Juncos
203 American Goldfinches

Good Birding
