The Sandhill Crane was still there today (Mon) at 1030 AM.
The bird was difficult to see because it was mostly below the horizon i.e., 
only its head and neck were
showing and there is lots of corn stubble of about the same height and 
width as the crane's neck.  
After I found it with binoculars, I did scope it.  Very nice in the morning 
sunlight.
It was in the vicinity of a distant oil or gas well head.
