A paltry seven species on the ebird list for my afternoon jaunt to Ward
(Boulder County) -- and my target birds, rosy-finches, did not appear. But
a Northern Pygmy-Owl was a fine consolation prize. It was haughtily
surveying the road from the telephone wire just east of 7791 Lefthand
Canyon Drive at 2:30 PM.

Best bird in Ward was Pine Grosbeak. Weather was too nice to drive much
else to the feeders.
