BENT COUNTY:
--Duane Nelson reported that a Piping Plover has returned to John Martin
Reservoir on April 8.
--2 Dunlin were reported by Nelson along the Arkansas River below the dam
at John Martin Reservoir on April 11.
--A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was reported by Nelson near Hasty Campground below the
dam at John Martin on April 11.
>From the bridge at Hasty over the Arkansas, walking east, the bird was in
Russian Olives about 200 yards east of the bridge.  It flew off to NE which
is private property.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--A breeding plumaged Dunlin was reported by Vanderpoel at Clover  Basin
Reservoir on the west end on April 12 and Vanderpoel reported that it
continued on April 13.  Clover Basin is on Nelson Road, west of 75th St in
the Longmont area.
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Tumasonis in the Gunbarrel area by
the Lobo Trail near Park Lane Road off of Lookout Road on April 12.
--A breeding plumaged F Rusty Blackbird was reported by Vanderpoel along
Boulder Creek W of 75th St where the dead tree
hangs over the creek on April 13.

DELTA COUNTY:
--A pair of Black Phoebe was reported by Horn at the headgate of Relief
Canal on the W side of Gunnison River at the end of H75 Road on April 13.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--Kibbe reported that the Eastern Phoebe continues at "Phoebe Bridge" at
Plum Creek Delta at Chatfield SP on April 11.

EAGLE COUNTY:
--135+ Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby at Spring Park Reservoir
in El Jebel on April 10.  McConnell reported 12 Barrow's Goldeneyes at
Spring Park Reservoir on April 13.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--A winter plumaged Pacific Loon was reported by Gavin Bieber at Brush
Hollow Reservoir on April 9.  The Pacific Loon was refound by Percival on
April 10.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival E of Portland on April 10.
--A pair of Rufous-crowned Sparrows was reported by Pals at the Tunnel
Drive Trailhead in Canon City on April 14.

GUNNISON COUNTY:
--On April 10, Leatherman reported 11 Brown-capped Rosy-Finches and 1 Black
Rosy-Finch  and a Slate-colored Fox Sparrow at a feeder on Evelyn Lane
which is about 4 miles N of Gunnison off of CO 135.

HUERFANO COUNTY:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Nunes on the W side of Martin Lake in
Lathrop SP on April 14.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at the Red Rocks Trading Post, first reported
by Henwood on October 26, was seen again on April 10 by Henwood.
--On April 13, Chavez reported that the "Slate-colored" Fox Sparrow was
seen at Red Rocks Trading Post.

LA PLATA COUNTY:
--Nunes reported on April 13, that the ACORN WOODPECKERS continue at their
spot near Durango.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--A Caspian Tern was reported by Komar on the N shore of Lake Loveland on
April 10.
--50+ Bohemian Waxwings were reported by Adam Johnson on The Oval at
Colorado State University in Fort Collins on April 10.  On April 12, Shade
reported several flocks of Bohemian Waxwings visiting the north end of The
Oval on the edge of CSU campus.  There is a berry tree with fruit on the NW
corner of Laurel and Howe which is attracting the birds.
--On April 12, Sparks reported 4 Common Redpolls at feeders behind the
Discovery Museum in Fort Collins and  Bohemian Waxwings in old town Fort
Collins.
--At Horseshoe Lake on April 13, Komar reported 4 subad Lesser Black-backed
Gulls from the W side neighborhood.  On April 14, Komar reported 1-st cyc
Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull at Horseshoe Lake.
--At Timnath Reservoir  from W side public park on April 13, Komar reported
Caspian Tern, 1-st cyc Lesser  Black-backed Gull,
3-rd cyc Thayer's Gull and ad F Barrow's Goldeneye.  On April 14,
Leatherman refound the Caspian Tern at Timnath Reservoir from the S side
public parking area.

LOGAN COUNTY:
--3 Lapland Longspurs were reported by Erthal and Sanders on Hwy 61 east of
Sterling on April 10.

MONTEZUMA COUNTY:
--12 Barrow's Goldeneyes (ad M, ad F, transitional M) were reported by
Kaempfer on a pond W of the Delores firehouse which is on the west end of
town on April 12.  On April 13, Kaempfer reported only 2 Barrow's
Goldeneyes.
--5 LUCY'S WARBLERS were reported by Kaempfer at Yellowjacket Canyon along
with Black-throated Sparrow on April 13.
--A pair of Black Phoebes was reported by Kaempfer on CR G at McElmo Canyon
on April 13.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
--A Snowy Plover was reported by Dexter at Nucla Town Reservoir on April 14.

OTERO COUNTY:
--At Lake Cheraw on April 13, Chartier reported Dunlin on the W side along
CO 109 along with many Snowy Plovers.

PITKIN COUNTY:
--All 3 species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Filby at Snowmass on April
10.

PROWERS COUNTY:
--At Lamar Community College Woods on April 8, Teuton reported White-eyed
Vireo, singing Carolina Wren and m Northern Cardinal at the south end.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A pair of Broad-winged Hawks was reported by Roth south of city of Pueblo
on I-25 Access road just east of CF&I Ponds about 1/2 mile north of Stem
Beach Exit of I-25 on April 10.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival along the Arkansas River below
Pueblo Reservoir Dam on April 10.
--A Mexican Duck first reported on April 7 at Pueblo City Park was found by
Percival along the Arksansas River near the Fish Hatchery Ponds below
Pueblo Reservoir dam on April 15.

WELD COUNTY:
--2 Red-necked Grebes were reported by Sheeter at Firestone Gravel Pits on
the pond closest to Hwy 119 on March 1.  Mlodinow refound the 2 grebes on
April 14 in breeding plumage.
--An EASTERN MEADOWLARK was heard and seen by Sheeter at Saddleback Golf
Club which is across the street from Frederick Recreational Area on April
13.
--At Stewart's Pond (Private Property) on  CR 46 just east of CR 37,
Mlodinow reported a flyover NEOTROPIC CORMORANT on April 14.
--At Loloff Reservoir on April 14, Mlodinow reported a f Mexican Duck.
--A Dunlin was reported by Tom and Mary France at Beebe Draw on April 14.
--A 2nd-cyc Glaucous Gull was reported by Leatherman at Windsor Lake on
April 14.

The DFO field trip for Thursday, April 18 will be Pawnee Grassland led by
Chris Owens (home: 303-772-6048  cell:  970-481-7271).
Meet the leader at 0530 at the RTD Rark-N-Ride on the SW corner of I-25 and
Hwy 66, Exit 243.  Will return to meeting place late afternoon or early
evening, depending on our success.  Will look for raptors, early migrants.
 Walking will be less than 2 miles  but there may be some rough places we
will traverse.  On our return we will swing by Loloff and Lower Latham.
 Please RSVP by email to leader at [email protected].   Bring scopes,
binoculars, lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.  Be sure to dress for
predicted weather.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, April 20 will be to Denver City Park led
by Chuck Hundertmark (303-604-0531).  Meet the leader at 0700 at the
parking strip SE of 22nd Ave just north of Ferril Lake.  From Colorado
 Blvd, turn west onto 22nd Ave, and go past the Museum of Nature and
Science.  Turn left just before the Zoo at the sign to the Pavilion
Bandstand.  Park on the left at the end of the parking area closest to
Ferril Lake.  Will Photograph and observe early nesting behavior of
Double-crested Cormorants, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Snowy Egrets on
Ferril and Duck Lakes.  For SLR's a 300 mm lens or better is recommended.
 Will walk the park for migrant and early nesters,  Bring water, snacks,
binocs, camera, optional tripod and scopes.  Half day trip.  Limit of 10
participants so call or email leader if you plan to attend.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, April 21 will be to South Platte Park led by
Dick Anderson,(303-757-4582).  Meet the leader at 0800 at the parking lot
at the Carson Nature Center.  The Nature Center is behind the Aspen Grove
Shopping Center on Santa Fe.  Go west on mineral from Santa Fe to the first
light and turn north off Mineral onto South Platte Parkway.  Go past the
RTD overflow parking on your left, turn left into the Nature Center on
Carson Way.  Should finish about 11.  Bring Water, binoculars and a scope
if you have one.  Dress for variable weather.
