We are seeing the transition from late summer to early fall - Wed we had
possibly our last Yellow Warbler and our first Yellow-rumped, plus our first
Ruby-crowned Kinglets.  Also had our third Nashville Warbler (never had more
than two in a season).  Flickers, Blue Jays and Downy Woodpeckers (all of
which tend to be later season captures) are around and more active.  We
finally caught the White-breasted Nuthatch that's been taunting us for at
least a week.   Here's the breakdown:

 

9/18 - 30 banded:

Hammond's Flycatcher 1

Dusky Flycatcher          1

House Wren     4

Ruby-crowned Kinglet  2 (FOS)

Nashville Warbler         1

Yellow Warbler            1

Yellow-rumped Warbler-Audubon's     1 (FOS)

MacGillivray's Warbler 1

Common Yellowthroat  1

Wilson's Warbler         14

Song Sparrow  1

Lincoln's Sparrow        2

 

9/19 - 23 banded, 1 return:

Downy Woodpecker    2 new, 1 return (banded last year)

White-breasted Nuthatch          1 (FOS)

Dusky Flycatcher          1

House Wren     4

Orange-crowned Warbler         3

Yellow-rumped Warbler-Audubon's     2

Wilson's Warbler         8

Lincoln's Sparrow        2

 

Closed today; then open Sat, Sun, and Mon.  Closed Tues (9/24), then open
daily until our next closed day on Fri (10/4).  Remember the RMBO picnic on
Sat (10/5)!
