Folks, on the way in to work on this crystalline morning I took back roads
into Boulder to enjoy the scenery. Lagerman and Boulder Reservoirs looked
like they were boiling as they gave up their heat to the -10° air. As I
was completing the loop around Boulder Reservoir I was chuffed to see about
7 Sandhill Cranes (I didn't stop to count) tightly bunched & heads tucked
in against the cold just west of 51st Street, about even with 6-mile
Reservoir, just south of Kelso Rd.

My Hoary Ovenbird was up and at 'em this morning, shaking off the -7° chill
in my yard as it picked for sunflower chips and dried mealworms.

Enjoy- Bill Schmoker, Longmont
