I and a number of intrepid birders enjoyed seeing a good variety of gulls between about 2:30 PM and dark today, including the usual suspects, plus Lesser Black-backeds of different ages, first, second and adult Glaucous Gulls, Thayer's, Cal gulls, but the Slaty-backed Gull that had been seen at 12:45 was not found. By 4 and after there were MANY gulls best seen from the top of the little hill overlooking the west shore, part way between the dam and the SW cove. Lots more ice than a few days ago. We were taunted by distant views of a separate, large flock of larids that accumulated on the east shore.
Maybe Wednesday? Joe Roller, Who was it who said, "If it was too easy, it wouldn't be any fun!" If I find him, I'd be tempted to become violent. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
