The huge gull flock at Aurora Rerservoir on Saturday afternoon was best viewed
from the dam area. Light was better from the west side, but gulls were closer
to the east side. Highlights were:
Lesser Black-backed Gull - at least 2 adults, 1 2nd cycle, 1 first cycle
Iceland Gull - two 2nd cycle "Kumlien's" gulls, one bigger than the other
Glaucous Gull - 4 1st cycle, 3 of which were very white
California Gull - 1 adult
Thayer's Gulls - several juvs and at least one adult

Low quality photos of the immature Iceland Gulls are posted online at
www.pbase.com/quetzal/rarebirds .
