Mark Peterson, Loch Kilpatrick and I birded a bit in the Douglas County
foothills this morning. Highlights were a spontaneously calling Northern
Pygmy-Owl and a close flyby, adult Northern Goshawk. Red Crossbill and Clark's
Nutcracker numbers continue to impress while Cassin's Finches were nowhere to
be found.
