Hello, Birders. Below are some birds I audio-recorded around Boulder County earlier today, Saturday, 5/17. 1. A Northern Waterthrush singing its laser cannon song (thanks, Scott, for that!) at Walden Ponds: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178475 2. A Gray Flycatcher actually singing at Walden Ponds, something you don't hear everyday in Boulder County: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178477 3. An Eastern Warbling-Vireo, of late the default warbling-vireo in Boulder County's lowlands, singing at Walden Ponds: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178478 4a. An Alder Flycatcher calling at Greenlee Preserve: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178480 4b. The Alder Flycatcher responding to playback of its song: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178481 4c. The Alder Flycatcher calling alongside a Gray Flycatcher (Gray toward the beginning of the cut, Alder toward the end), not a commonly heard Empidonax combo in Boulder County or perhaps anywhere: http://www.xeno-canto.org/178485 Ted Floyd Lafayette, Boulder County, Colorado
