COBirders,

Today, 25 birders participated in the 20th Bear Creek Park spring bird count in
Colorado Springs. A species count of 86 was a record, and 13 warbler species
were very impressive. The best bird was male Black-throated Green Warbler at
the Bear Creek Nature Center (did not sing; listen for "tick" chip).

Other count highlights include:
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Indigo Bunting
Black-and-White Warbler (min of 3)
Townsend's Warbler
N. Waterthrush
Ovenbird
Ash-throated Flycatcher
Band-tailed Pigeon

Thus far, "week-of" birds not seen today include Summer Tanager, Clay-colored
and Brewer's Sparrow, and Rock Wren (rats).

Cordially,
Steve Getty
