On February 3, Wilberding reported 4 Barrow's Goldeneyes (2m, 2f) along the South Platte from 88th. -- On Janaury 27, Dowell reported Thayer's Gull at Barr Lake. On January 29, Riffe reported 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. On February 4, Dowell reported 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 Iceland Gull, and 1 Thayer's Gull at Barr Lake. On February 5, Dowell reported 1 GLACOUS-WINGED GULL, 6 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, and 4 Thayer's Gulls at Barr Lake. On February 6, Dunning reported a Thayer's Gull from the RMBO side of Barr Lake and a Lesser Black-backed Gull from regular side of Barr Lake. On January 19, Duane Nelson reported 4 ad Tundra Swans at the Avondale Water Treatment Ponds. The ponds are 15 miles east of Pueblo on US 50 between mm 331 and mm 332 on the North side of the highway and just east of the bridge over the Arkansas River. On January 31, Rutherford reported 2 Tundra Swans at Avondale Water Treatment Ponds. --On February 1, Gwen Moore reported ICELAND GULL at Pueblo Reservoir. On February 6, Percival reported ad Tundra Swan and f-type White-winged Scoter on Lake Minnequa in Pueblo. On February 8, Chartier reported that the Tundra Swan and White-winged Scoter continue at Lake Minnequa. On February 9, Percival reported Tundra Swan and f Long-tailed Ducks at Lake Minnequa. WELD COUNTY: --On February 8, Lefko reported ad Lesser Black-backed Gull at Woods Lake. The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, February 14 will be South Platte River Trail at 88th Ave and I-76 led by Mike Foster (mke1.foster AT comcast.net, 303-456-2657). Meet the leader at 0900 at the parking area at 88th ave and South Platte River Trail. From I-76 take E 88th Ave exit, go west on 88th for 1.6 miles, then turn south at Colorado Blvd. Turn left again into parking lot for South Platte River Greenway Trailhead. Sign up and sign waiver online. To carpool, call Mike, then meet at 0820 at SE corner of RTD lot (2nd and Routt) a few blocks east of Union Blvd. Please register online or contact leader to register.
