--On February 8 at Barr Lake, Mark Peterson reported 1 ad Thayer's Gull and
1 2nd-cyc GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL.  On February 9 at Barr Lake, Mlodinow
reported Thayer's Gull.  On February 12, Dowell reported Lesser
Black-backed Gull at Barr Lake.  On February 18, Sheeter reported 2 Lesser
Black-backed Gulls and 2 Thayer's Gulls at Barr Lake SP.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--On February 14 at Ward, Kaempfer reported all three Rosy-Finches.
--On February 16, Floyd reported Northern Cardinal in North Boulder
Foothills.
--On February 16, Deininger reported Lapland Longspur on 9th Ave in
Longmont.

DOLORES COUNTY:
--A m Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Riley Morris at impoundment ponds
on the west end of McPhee Reservoir by the Dolores town Cemetery on
February 7.

DOLORES/MONTEZUMA COUNTIES:
--A Slate-colored Fox Sparrow and Canyon Wrens were reported by Riley
Morris at Lone Dome SWA on February 7.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--On January 30, Chris Brobin reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the Willow
Circle Neighborhood of Colorado Springs.

reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the Willow Circle Neighborhood of Colorado
Springs.  On February 3, Erthal reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the Willow
Circle neighborhood of Colorado Springs.  On February 6, Erthal and
Kilpatrick reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the Willow Circle neighborhood of
Colorado Springs.  On February 14, Kellner reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the
Willow Circle neighborhood of Colorado Springs.
On February 15, Hopping reported ACORN WOODPECKER in the Willow Circle
neighborhood of Colorado Springs.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Erthal at Florence Riverside Park on
February 6.  On February 15, Moss reported Black Phoebe at Florence River
Park.
--On February 15, Mark Peterson reported 2 Tundra Swans flying low and to
the east from West of Florence RIver Park.
--On February 15, Mark Peterson reported 6 Rusty Blackbirds (2m, 4 f) on CR
119.
--On February 17, Rich Miller reported Trumpeter and Tundra Swan at Holcim
Wetlands.  On February 18, Percival and Moss reported 2 Tundra Swans at
Holcim Wetlands.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
--On February 19, Filby reported 10+ Barrow's Goldeneyes at Coryell Ronach
Ponds viewed from CR 106.

JACKSON COUNTY:
--On February 16, Leatherman reported 75 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches and 5
Brown-capped Rosy-Finches at Moose Visitor Center on the west side of
Cameron Pass.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--On February 10, Suddjian reported Golden-crowned Sparrow at Red Rocks
Trading Post.  On February 16, Amy Darling reported Golden-crowned Sparrow
at Red Rocks Trading Post.  On February 17, Matt Clark reported
Golden-crowned Sparrow at Red Rocks Trading Post.
--Ira Sanders reported Gray-crowned and Black Rosy-Finches coming to his
front yard at 314 DeFrance Ct in Golden on December 29.  Birders are
welcome to watch from the street. On February 16, Sanders reports lots of
Rosy-Finches and lots of snow in his yard.  On February 17, Sanders
reported Rosy-Finches in his yard.  On February 19, Sanders reported a few
Rosy-Finches in his hard.
--On January 4, Schottler reported a Pine Warbler at Denver West Office
Park near the SE corner of bldg 7. On January 28, Nick Moore reported Pine
Warbler at Denver West.  On January 29, Lisa Edwards reported Pine Warbler
at Denver West.  On January 31, Kilpatrick reported Pine Warbler at Denver
West.  On February 10, Norm Lewis reported Pine warbler at Denver West
Office Park.  On February 14, Matt Clark reported Pine Warbler at Denver
West.
--On February 7, 1 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was reported by Haley at Apex
Park.

LAKE COUNTY:
--A Long-tailed Duck was found by Truan and Porter on Mt Elbert Forebay
Reservoir on February 19.

MESA COUNTY:
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Henwood at Grand Junction Wildlife Area
along river's edge on February 10.

MOFFAT COUNTY:
--On February 11, Luke reported about 20 Barrow's Goldeneyes on the Yampa
River just south of Craig.

PROWERS COUNTY:
--At Lamar Community College Woods between February 5 and February 9,
Leatherman reported Northern Cardinal and Red-bellied Woodpecker.tp 22nd

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--On February 7, Percival reported 2 Great Black-backed Gulls(1 ad, 1 1-st
yr) at Pueblo Reservoir on ice look W from W Fishing Road.  On February 9
at Pueblo Reservoir, Percival reported Red-throated Loon.  On February 14,
Kellner reported Red-necked Grebe and Red-throated Loon at Pueblo
Reservoir.  On February 15, Hopping reported Great Black-backed Gull and
Red-necked Grebe at the South shore Marina of Pueblo Reservoir.
--On February 1, Mark Peterson reported a Tundra Swan on Lake Minnequa.  On
February 6, Percival reported ad Tundra Swan and f-type White-winged Scoter
on Lake Minnequa in Pueblo.  On February 8, Chartier reported that the
Tundra Swan and White-winged Scoter continue at Lake Minnequa.  On February
9, Percival reported Tundra Swan and f Long-tailed Ducks at Lake Minnequa.
--On February 11, Margie Joy found a Greater Roadrunner at Juniper Breaks
Campground on the N side of Pueblo Reservoir.
--On February 13, Margie Joy found 2 Greater Roadrunners at Swallows on the
far W part of Pueblo Reservoir.

SAN JUAN COUNTY:
--About 400 - 500 Rosy-Finches (all three species) were reported by Peter
Derven near the corner of Blair St and 9th in Silverton on February 16.

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
--On February 15, Mlodinow report 2 Glaucous Gulls at Prewitt Reservoir.

WELD COUNTY:
--On February 8, Lefko reported ad Lesser Black-backed Gull at Woods Lake.
--On February 11, Sheeter reported Barrow's Goldeneye on LUNA Reservoir.
--On February 13, Mlodinow reported an AMERICAN BLACK DUCK at Windsor
Reservoir.
--On February 13, Messick reported Tundra Swan on Lower Latham at CR 48.
--On February 16, Hess reported Long-tailed Duck at Windsor Lake.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, February 21 will be to Boulder Reservoirs
(Baseline, Valmont, and Boulder) led by Wendy Wibbens and Sue Summers
(wibbwj AT aol.com, 303-330-1175).  Meet at 0800 at the Colorado Parks and
Wildlife Office, 6060 N Broadway.  Exist I-25 at 58th Ave, go west 2 blocks
to Broadway, then north 2 blocks to parking lot on right.  Will be in and
out of cars with short walks up to 1/2 mile.  Please bring scopes for
distance viewing if you have one.  Dress for winter weather and bring
water, snacks and lunch.  Please register online or contact leader to
register.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, February 22 will be to Morrison Nature
Center at Star K Ranch led by A.J. Gest (offsetaj AT comcast.net,
303-994-2420).  This trip is FULL.

The next monthly meeting of Denver Field Ornithologists will be on Monday,
February 23 at the Museum of Nature and Science.  Carolyn Gunn will give an
overview of Black Swift Research in Colorado.  Enter by the northside
security/employee entrance and tell the guard that you are there for the
DFO meeting.
