Anyone noticing lots of House Wrens this year? We just hit 46, after banding 13 today. That's as many as we banded total last year and well ahead of the totals for 2013 and 2012.
Our cool bird of the day was a young, female CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER. A cutie, and might have been hard to ID in the field. Here is a breakdown of the 29 banded and 6 new returns: Dusky Flycatcher 2 Black-capped Chickadee 1 House Wren 13 Hermit Thrush 2 Gray Catbird 1 new, 2 banded in 2012 Yellow Warbler 3 new, 1 banded in 2014, 1 in 2013, 2 in 2012 Chestnut-sided Warbler 1 Common Yellowthroat 3 Spotted Towhee 2 Lincoln's Sparrow 1 Open daily, weather permitting, through the month of May, from about 7 until 11. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
