I was surprised and delighted to see a Green Heron on the canal north of Home Lake (Rio Grande County). It is a rare migrant through this area. Have not seen one here in many years.
The nearby willow trees along the lake were alive with Orange-crowned, Yellow, YR, and Virginia’s Warblers, Warbling Vireo, and Western Wood-pewee. Lincoln’s Sparrows were quite apparent as well. Lots to see and even as I type this, I am just anxious to get back out there. Ever have that feeling anyone????
