Hello All,

This is information regarding an apparent closure of the park on the west side
of Timnath Reservoir and a few small sightings from Fossil Creek Reservoir in
Fort Collins.

My family and I decided to take a walk over at Fossil Creek this afternoon
where we had one singing Orchard Oriole and a flyover sapsucker sp. at the
observation pier near the parking lot. We then headed over to Timnath Res.
Multiple times over the past year or so, I've been greeted at the reservoir by
un-uniformed individuals from the city of Timnath asking various questions
regarding home town, activities at the reservoir, frequency of visitation, etc.
I know that other local and visiting birders have also had this experience.
Today we were approached again and asked whether we were Timnath residents.
When we replied that we were not, we were informed that the city had closed
Timnath Reservoir to non-Timnath residents for this entire year. So, we left
and just went over to the neighborhood on the east side of the reservoir where
some of it is visible. What was most puzzling was that, in the multiple times
I've been there this year, I haven't run across these individuals barring
access to non-residents. Also, I haven't heard any others mention a similar
experience yet this year. As I did not ask the un-uniformed individual any
questions, there may be something positive that wasn't communicated. On the
observation side, there was one Black Tern visible from the east side of
Timnath Res.
