The "best" birds of the day were a Broad-winged hawk not at Ramah but just
east of Peyton , flying on the south side of Hwy 24, and an Osprey on the west
side of the Peyton Hwy North.
Yesterday we birded the Palmer Trail and the trail that leads to Twin Rocks at
Garden of the Gods and it was probably the birdiest I have seen it in a very
long time. They were the usual birds for GOG but in large numbers ."Best birds"
were the Prairie Falcon flying around the largest rock formation (probably
one of the pair that nested there this summer) and a Hermit Thrush.
