Actually, I agree with you. The reports of individual rare birds here doesn't interest me much because I, too, am not likely to chase something. It is cool when some kind of record comes up - like Brandon Percival's Vaux Swift this year, or the California Condors we had in the spring. But I enjoy broader stories much more - field trip reports that mention all the birds, discussions about trends or some kind of educational discussion, etc.
