The Great Crested has morphed into a BROWN CRESTED FLYCATCHER from the photos. DFO Field Trips: The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, November 7 will be Joey Kellner's Scoter Trip (vireo1 ATcomcast.net; 303-978-1748). Meet at 0530 on the side of Deer Creek Canyon Rd just west of Wadsworth. All day search for migrant grebes, loons, and scoters. Bring lunch and come prepared for all kinds of weather and wide variety of driving conditions November can bring. State Parks pass required for drivers of carpooling vehicles. Register online or contact leader. The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, November 8 will be to Cherry Creek SP Wetlands Loop led by Karen von Saltz (kvonsaltza AT yahoo.com; 303-941-4881). Meet at the Prairie Loop lot in Cherry Creek SP at 0900. From either park entrance, follow Lake View Rd to the Prairie Loop that is located at the south rim of the reservoir. State Parks pass or day pass required. This is a half day (about 3 mile) walk through most of the important habitats found in the park. Trails can be slick or muddy. Beginning birders are welcome.
