My friend and I walked about 8 miles round trip up the Rampart Range Road from Garden of the Gods today. We saw many Clark's Nutcrackers - about 25 - flying in group of 3-15 and busy getting nuts from the trees. They seemed to be spending a fair amount of time in and around the Waldo Canyon burn area. There were lots of Townsend's Solitaires singing and eating Juniper berries. Other birds included the expected Robins, Red-tailed Hawks, White-breasted Nuthatches, Dark-eyed Juncos, Spotted Towhees, Scrub Jays, Pine Siskin, Flickers, Crows, Ravens, etc.
