This afternoon there was one swan way over on the north shore of Leggett Reservoir (the NW of the Valmont complex). I presume that this is one continuing bird from those seen at the end of the week by Christian Nunes and John Vanderpoel, but perhaps not as it was missed by a couple of parties yesterday. Also of note is a large congregation of Red-breasted Mergansers almost all of whom are female. Last Sunday these birds were on Hillcrest (the south one), today I had them on Valmont, the eponymous one of the group.
