Hi COBirders, Today was my first day of banding for the spring season 2016 at CSR. I only caught three birds today, (it is early), but migrants are definitely arriving and moving through.
Banded today: ROCK WREN (second year bird, sex undetermined - I only rarely get these) Common Yellowthroat (male, adult/after second year) Lincoln's Sparrow (unsexed, second year) Also seen: BROAD-WINGED HAWK, Swainson's Hawk, 25 White-faced Ibis, Gadwall and Mallard in the flooded field, Myrtle Yellow-rumped Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and lotsa Red-winged Blackbirds, Common and Great-tailed Grackles, White-crowned Sparrows, and W Meadowlark. Road and trails are pretty muddy with adhesive clay, and concrete construction continues at Little Fountain Creek. Happy Migration, Steve Brown Colo Spgs Sent from my iPad -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
