---On October 1 at Barr Lake Meredith McBurney banded a Philadelphia Vireo
which was seen by Ira Sanders, Megan Miller, and Kurt Hansen.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
---On October 12 at deKoevend Park, Jared Del Rosso reported
Black-and-white Warbler on the High Line Canal Trail.
---On October 8 at South Platte Reservoir, Ben Sampson, Thomas Holub, and
Dale Pate reported f-type Surf Scoter in the SE Corner.  On October 9 at
South Platte Reservoir, Mark Chavez, Gene Rutherford, Renee Casias, and
John Drummond reported Surf Scoter.  On October 10 at South Platte
Reservoir, David Suddjian and many other birders reported Surf Scoter.  On
October 11 at South Platte Reservoir, Jill Boice, David Hill, Cynthia
Madsen, Diane Roberts, and Mary Burger reported Surf Scoter.  On October
13, Lee Farrell, Chris Gilbert, and David Dowell reported Surf Scoter at
South Platte Reservoir.

---On October 5, Kay Hawklee reported a Trumpeter Swan at Pinon Lake
Reservoir.

BENT COUNTY:
---On October 1 an Ovenbird ws reported by David Dowell at Melody Tempel
Grove.

BENT/KIOWA COUNTIES:
---On October 4, Duane Nelson reported a juv LITTLE GULL at Adobe Creek
Reservoir on the North part of the lake.  Duane
also reported multiple Sabine's Gulls.

BOULDER COUNTY:
---On October 8, Ted Floyd reported a Laughing Gull at Valmont Reservoir in
Boulder.
---On October 8, Jack Bushong reported Palm Warbler about 100 yards down
Coal Creek Bike Trail near underpass at W Cherry.
On October 8, Bob Spencer reported Palm Warbler at Dutch Creek Park in
Louisville.  On October 9, Jack Bushong reported Palm Warbler on Coal Creek
Trail where it goes over Coal Creek near Dutch Creek Park.  On October 9,
Peter Burke reported Palm Warbler at Warembourgh Open Space in Louisville.
---On October 6 at Boulder Reservoir, Ted Floyd reported a flyover
Sprague's Pipit and 2+ Sabine's Gulls.
---On October 6, a Nashville Warbler was reported by David Dowell and Chris
Rurik at Golden Ponds Park & Nature Area in Longmont.
---On October 3, 3 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Thomas Heinrich near
the dam at Boulder Reservoir.
---On October 1, 2 Broad-winged Hawks was reported by Peter Burke at
Flagstaff Amphitheater.  On October 9, a juv Broad-winged Hawk was reported
by Peter Burke.
---On October 1 a Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Candice Johnson near
Foothills and Diagonal highways intersection.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY:
---On October 2 a f Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Temujin Shubodai at
Echo Lake.

CUSTER COUNTY:
---On October 10 at Lake DeWeese, Monday Birders reported 2 Great-tailed
Grackles.
---On October 6 at Lake DeWeese, Mark Peterson reported Red Phalarop,
Northern Parula, and 2 flyover Chestnut-collared Longspurs.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:
---On October 13, at Marina Sandspit at Chatfield SP, Gwen Moore reported
Pomarine Jaeger and Sabine's Gull.
---On October 1, a Field Sparrow was reported by Thomas Holub at Plum Creek
Delta at Chatfield SP.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
---On October 13, Adam Vesely and Mark Chavez reported Pomarine Jaeger at
Chafield in area betweeh fishing pier and north boat ramp; Dan String, John
Drummond and Jeannie Mitchell had good views of the Pomarine Jaeger from
the handicapped Fisherman's pier and Scott Somershoe reported best view
from the Jeff Co side North Boat Ramp.  On October 13, Nic Korte and Scott
Someshoe reported Pomarine Jaeger on Jefferson County side, and David
Dowell, Scot Somershoe, Christine Alexander, Cheri Phillips, and Renee
Casias reported Pomarine Jaerger on Douglas County side.
---On October 8 at Chatfield SP, Greg Pasquariello reported Lesser
Black-backed Gull and Sabine's Gull.
---On October 4, a jaeger was reported by David Suddjian at Chatfield SP.

EL PASO COUNTY:
---On October 11, Aaron Driscoll reported 3 Surf Scoters at Big Johnson.
On October 11, John Drummond reported that a Pacific Loon joined the Surf
Scoters at Big Johnson.  On October 12, Kyle Kawley reported Pacific Loon
at Big Johnson.
---On October 1, a juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Brandon Percival and
Bill Maynard at Big Johnson.

FREMONT COUNTY:
---On October 8 on Canon City Riverwalk between Sells Lake and Raynolds
Ave, Dale Adams reported Black Phoebe.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
---On October 3, a Trumpeter Swan was reported by David Rymal on I-70 west
of Rifle.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
---On October 12 at Chatfield SP, Ira Sanders reported a Pomarine Jaeger
west of water intake at N end of Dam.
---On October 8 at Genesee Mountain Park, Sue Summer reported m
Williamson's Sapsucker.

KIOWA COUNTY:
---On October 4 at Adobe Creek Reservoir, Jane Stulp and Janeal Thompson
reported 2 Sabine's Gulls.
---On October 1 at Adobe Creek Reservoir, David Dowell reported 5 juv
Sabine's Gulls and Chihuahuan Ravens
---On October 1 at Upper Queens/Neeskah Reservor, David Dowell reported juv
Sabine's Gull and 11 Chihuahuan Ravens.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
---On October 2 at Flagler Park, Art Hudak, Mark Chavez and Tom Behnfield
reported 2 Broad-winged Hawks.

LARIMER COUNTY:
---On October 10, Nick Komar reported a juv Sabine's Gull at Timnath
Reservoir.
---On October 3, a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by David Wade on
US 287 about 1/2 north of Ted's Place and Brandon Nooner, Sean Walters, and
Austin Hess reported the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher about 3/4 mile north on
a fence across from the lumber yard.  Later on October 3, Nick Komar
reported that the m Scissor-tailed was hunker down in a scrub across from
the lumber yard because of the high winds.  On October 4, the
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Joe Mammoser near the lumber yard
and was seen by several other birders.  Elizabeth Gibbons reported 3
Scissor-tailed Flycatchers on October 4.  On October 6, the Scissor-tailed
Flycatcher was reported by April Eisele about 1 mile north of the
intersection of Hwy 287 and Hwy 14.
---On October 2, a Williamson's Sapsucker was reported by Nick Komar at the
entrance station to Rocky Mountain NP.
---On October 1, a Magnolia Warbler was reported by Nick Komar at Arapahoe
Bend NA.

LINCOLN COUNTY:
---On October 5 on the playa south of Arriba on CR 63, Steve Mlodinow
reported 1000 Chestnut-collared Longspurs, 50 McCown's Longspurs.

LOGAN COUNTY:
---On October 7 at North Sterling Reservoir and State Park, Steve Mlodinow
reported Sabine's Gull, flyover LITTLE GULL, and  Chestnut-collared
Longspur.
---On October 7 at Jumbo Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's Gull
and Laughing Gull.

MESA COUNTY:
---On October 12, Mike Henwood reported a Black Phoebe at Grand Valley
Audubon Nature Center.
---On October 8, Mike Henwood reported a White-winged Dove on O1/2 Road.
---On October 5 on old Hwy  6 in De Beque Canyon, JoAnn Riggle reported a
Trumpeter Swan.  On October 9, Mike Henwood reported ad Trumpeter Swan at
the DeBeque Canyon Tunnel Pullout Area.  The swan was in the river close to
where you re-enter  I-70. On October 12, Mike Henwood reported Trumpeter
Swan and 3 Bewick's Wrens at DeBeque Canyon Tunnel Pullout Area.  On
October 13, Phil Lyon reported Trumpeter Swan at BeBeque canyon tunnel
Pullout Area.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
---On October 9, Coen Dexter reported 4 Sagebrush Sparrows and a Bewick's
Wren at the Nucla Airport.
---On October 4, Coen Dexter reported a hatch year Broad-winged Hawk
circling over Nucla.

MORGAN COUNTY:
---On October 7 at Jackson Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported 7 Sabine's
Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gull.

MORGAN/WELD COUNTIES:
---On October 7 On M CR4/ W CR105 Steve Mlodinow reported 100s of McCown's
Longspurs and Chestnut-collared Longspurs north of Jackson Reservoir.

PROWERS COUNTY:
---On October 13 at Lamar Community College Woods, Dave Leatherman reported
Black-throated Green Warbler, Red-bellied Woodpekcer, and 2 Northern
Cardinals.
---On October 13 at Fairmount Cemetery, Dave Leatherman reported Pine
Warbler.
---On October 7 in Willow Creek Subdivision in Lamar, Dave Leatherman
reported 1 imm f EASTERN TOWHEE.
---On October 7 at Lamar Community College Woods, Dorothy Russell reported
Blue-headed Vireo and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
---On October 5 at Lamar Community College Wood, Dave Leatherman reported 2

at Florissant Fossil Beds NM.

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
---On October 5 at Last Chance Rest Area, Steve Mlodinow reported
Chestnut-collared Longspur, 2 Western Palm Warblers and a Field Sparrow.

WELD COUNTY:
---On October 13 on I-25 Frontage road S of Hwy 119, Sue Riffe reported ad
light morph Broad-winged Hawk.
---On October 5 at Lower Latham Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's
Gull.  On October 11 at Lower Latham Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported 3
Sabine's Gulls (2 juv, 1 ad)
---On October 5 at Briggsdale, Liza Antony reported 1 Lapland Longspur and
3 Mc Cown's Longspurs.

YUMA COUNTY:
---On October 8 at Pipit Hill in Hale Area, Bill Kaempfer and his field
trip reported Sprague's Pipits and Chestnut-collared Longspurs.

Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips:
The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 16 will be to Chico Basin Ranch led
by Mark Amershek (mamershek AT msn.com; 303-320-8646)  This trip is full.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 16 will be to Bluff Lake Nature
Center led by Pratyaydipta Rudra and Sreemala Das Majumder (pratyayr At
gmail.com; 919-699-4043)  Directions:  From I-70 East, go south on Havana
St and left onto E 29th Dr, which then join Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
Continue on Martin Luther King jr Blvd to Bluff Lake Nature Center in the
park on left side.  Meet the leaders at 0730.
   Prat and Pooj are new DFO leaders who have been very active on DFO field
trips since they move to denver a year ago.  Please welcome them.  Bluff
Lake offers a great range of habitat:  wetland, yucca, and large
cottonwoods.  Portable toilets are on site but no potable water.  Will walk
on level trails up to 3 miles.  There is a 40 step stair before the start
of the walk.  bring plenty of water, suncreen.   Scopes are optional.

The DFO Fiedl Trip For Sunday, October 16 will be to Clear Spring Ranch
Regional Park (El Paso) led by Chris Gilbert (chrisgee9 AT gmail.com;
804-214-1508).  Directions:  To carpool meet at King Soopers parking lot at
100 Founders Parkway (just east of I-25) in Castle Rock, exit 184.  Meet at
0600.
    All day moderate trip with first half at Clear Springs ranch Regional
Park (east side of I-25 at exit 123) then drive back north to Fountain
Creek Regional Park for lunch and walking the park.  Bring lunch, snacks,
water, bug spray, sun screen and extra water.  Expect 4-5 miles of mainly
flat land walking total.  Anticipate being done by 4:30 pm.   Register
online or contact leader.  Trip is limited to the first 12 registrations.
