All, Tonight just before halftime I was enjoying a cold Banquet in the parking lot overlooking the SW side of the Broncos fracas.
The wind was blowing stiff from the south, and I observed three solitary large-bodied birds hauling south head-long into the wind. Each bird was 2-3min apart, and I'm guessing there were more to the east and west of where I was. The birds were lit up by the stadium, and judging by the size of a flock of honkers I saw near the first one, looked almost snipe-like. What might these have been? Again, they looked snipe-like, but seeing how powerful their flight was into the strong south wind was interesting... Several chipping sparrows flew nearby too (heard, and only 1 seen). -Matt Baker Denver, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
