Gull at Cherry Creek SP.  On October 10 Bob Righter reported an imm
Sabine’s Gull next to the dam on the west side of Cherry Creek SP.
---On October 7 Art Hudak reported a Palm Warbler (Western) from Centennial
Park.

BACA COUNTY:
---On October 10 near Pritchett, Jim Dennis reported 10 Sandhill Cranes.
On October 11 Jim Dennis reported 60 Sandhill Cranes near Pritchett.  On
October 12 Kathy Carroll reported 60 Sandhill Cranes SW of Pritchett.  On
October 12 Jim Dennis reported 30 Sandhill Cranes at Comanche National
Grasslands near Pritchett.
---On October 10 near Walsh, Janeal Thompson reported 102 Mountain Plover
in a field being drilled with wheat.

BOULDER COUNTY:
---On September 27 David Dowell reported Red-necked Grebe and Black-bellied
Plover at Terry Lake.  Both birds
Continued through October 3.
---On October 1 Nunes reported an  imm Red Phalarope at Lagerman Reservoir,
also seen by Bill Kaempfer and Aaron Yappert and on October 3 by Mark
Minner-lee.
---On October 6 Bill Kaempfer reported a Broad-winged Hawk at Green
Mountain Cemetery.
---On October 8 Luke Pheneger reported fly over juv Broad-winged Hawk, 20+
Sandhill Cranes, and juv While-throated Sparrow at Golden Ponds in Longmont.

Chico  Basin Ranch.

for about 10 days, continues at Chatfield SP—S Platte River Delta.
---On September 30 Crystal Wilson reported Black Phoebe at Deer Creek Inlet
at Chatfield SP.  It was seen again on October 4 by Lorraine Lanning.
---On October 9 at Chatfield SP Swim Beach, David Suddjian reported
Sabine’s Gull.
---On October 8 at South Platte Reservoir access road, David Suddjian

in the middle of nowhere in Commanche NG.

LARIMER COUNTY:
---On October 8, David Wade reported Fox Sparrow at Maple & Fishback in
Fort Collins. On October 10 in the morning David Wade reported Red Fox
Sparrow at Maple and Fishback but around noon Wade reported a different Fox
Sparrow a possible intergrade.  On October 11 at Maple and FIshback, David
Wade and John Shenot reported Fox Sparrow.
---On October 8 at Arapahoe Bend Natural Area – Rigden Reservoir (Strauss
Cabin Lake), Amy Davis reported Black-bellied Plover and Semipalmated
Sandpiper.  On October 8 at Arapahoe Bend Naturnal Area, Lori Zabel
reported Black-bellied Plover.  On October 11 at Arapahoe Bend NA, Josh
Bruening reported Black-bellied Plover.

reported Black Phoebe on Cottonwood snag on gravel bar in river.

Bottom, Southwest of Craig.  It was seen again on October 6 by Jan and by
Vic Zerbi.
On October 8, Jan Leonard and Tresa Moulton reported Pacific Loon at Big
Bottom.  On October 8 Forrest Luke reported Pacific Loon at Big Bottom
south of Craig.
On October 9 Jason Beason and Forrest Luke reported Pacific Loon at Big
Bottom.  On October 12 Tom McConnell reported Paciffic Loon at Big Bottom.
---On October 11 at Yampa River SP at Maybell Bridge, Steve Weston reported
imm Broad-winged Hawk.

MONTEZUMA COUNTY:
---On October 8 Erick Hendrickson reported Semipalmated Plover and
White-throated Sparrow at Summit Reservoir.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
---On October 2 Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright found and photographed a
TROPICAL KINGBIRD near Nucla.   The bird was seen again on October 3.  The
area is mile and half west of Nucla, just south of the intersection of CC
road and 2700 road.  This is one half mile south of the Sewer Ponds.  The
bird was not found on October 4.
---On October 8  Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright reported Sage brush Sparrow
at Nucla Sewage Lagoons.  On October 10 Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright
reported 4 Sandhill Cranes and Sagebrush Sparrow at Nucla Sewage Lagoons.
---On October 10 at Cooper’s Ditch, Brenda Wright and Coen Dexter reported
Lewis’s Woodpecker and Sagebrush Sparrow.
---On October 10 at Airport Lake, Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright reported
Brewer’s Sparrow and 3 Sagebrush Sparrows.
---On October 11 at Silver Hawk Ranch, Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright
reported Brewer’s Sparrow and Sagebrush Sparrow.
---On October 13 at Bedrock Campground and Boat Ramp, Coen Dexter and

MORGAN COUNTY:
---On October 12 at Jackson Reservoir, David Dowell reported 95 Sandhill
Cranes, 7 Black-bellied Plovers Red Phalarope, Chestnut-collared Longspur,
2 White-throated Sparrows and Swamp Sparrow.

PARK COUNTY:
---On October 8 at Antero Reservoir, John Drummond reported 2 Black-bellied
Plovers and American Golden-Plover.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
---On October 6 Mark Yaeger reported Nashville Warbler at Valco Ponds SWA.
---On October 9 Brandon Percival reported Long-tailed Jaeger, Sanderling at
South Shore Marina, and 2 juv Sabine’s Gulls at West Fishing Road.  On
October 10 at Pueblo Reservoir, Brandon Percival and John Drummond reported
juv Long-tailed Jaeger.  The bird seems to prefer the NE part of the
reservoir.  On October 11 at Pueblo Reservoir, Brandon Percival and Richard
Bunn reported Long-tailed Jaeger which seemed to be moving around the
reservoir.  On October 11 Brandon Percival reported juv Sabine’s Gull and
Sandhill Cranes in SE part of reservoir.

RIO GRANDE COUNTY:
---On October 13 Dylan Hardy reported 400 Sandhill Cranes at Monte Vista

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
---On September 23 Ben Lagasse reported Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Prewitt
Reservoir.  On October 2 Tim Smart and David Dowell reported Buff-breasted
Sandpiper at Prewitt.  On October 6 Tim Smart reported 2 Buff-breasted
Sandpipers at Prewitt.
---On October 2 Steve Kingswood reported Black=bellied Plover and American
Golden-Plover at Prewitt Reservoir.
---On October 2 Tim Smart and David Dowell reported Caspian Tern at Prewitt
Reservoir.

DFO Field Trips

The DFO Field Trip For Saturday, October 14 will be to Chatfield SP led by

Meet at swim beach at 0800 by entering west entrance of Park off S.
Wadsworth, 1.6 miles south of C-470.  State Parks pass or day pass
required.
Be prepared to walk 1 to 1.5 miles.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 15 will be to Rocky Mountain Arsenal
NWR led by Candice Johnson (candice.johnson AT childrenscolorado.org.;
