This last week has seen steady, small numbers of shorebirds of a great
diversity here in the four corners-Montezuma and Dolores Counties. (16
species)

Industrial park Pond Wilson's Snipe (Brenda and Coen)
Saturday 5/11-McPhee Sanderling (Eric Moore), Bairds' Sandpipers
(Ryan Crouse)

*Sunday 5/12-Glade Lake Black-necked Stilts, (Glenn Dunmire) first
Dolores County record*

*Wednesday 5/15-McPhee Whimbrel, (Glenn Dunmire) first Montezuma County
record*, (Erik Hendrickson got there in time to take photos)
                     5/15-McPhee: Western Sandpipers, Least Sandpipers,
Bairds' Sandpipers, Willet, Spotted Sandpipers, Red-necked Phalarope,
Wilson's Phalarope, and Killdeer.

5/15-We watched these birds take off just before sunset and head onwards. I
never cease to be amazed by these little creatures flying great distances
in their migration.

Good Birding
Cheers, Glenn Dunmire
