Finally got to see the mountain plovers that have been reported by others (my third attempt!). I saw them on the north side of Myers road about 2,000 feet to the west of the Myers /Peyton highway intersection. There is a metal pole with a yellow piece of metal next to the fence at almost the exact spot where you need to look north to see the birds. They are about 100 yards from the road, I was very lucky to see them but pictures were very difficult. I saw five birds, I have heard that there is a large flock of them that has been seen.
These are my better pictures, I am curious about the one bird that does not have dark lores as to whether it is a mountain plover or not. Comments are welcome!
