I'm extremely sad to hear of Joe's passing. Like so many others it seems, Joe has been a positive light in the small number of years that I have been birding. While only having met him in person a few times, each was memorable. He had a way of making you feel like you had known him your whole life. I will cherish our email conversations relating to all things birding and not. He was a great role model for this community and his presence will surely be missed.
