Twenty-nine new birds, including 3 species that we usually catch annually
but often only one a season - Swainson's Thrush, Western Tanager and Vesper
Sparrow. Wilson's continue to dominate, but we remain well behind normal
levels for that key species. Here are today's new birds:

Western Wood-Pewee 2
House Wren 3
Swainson's Thrush 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 5
Yellow Warbler 1
Townsend's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 12
Western Tanager 1
Vesper Sparrow 1

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Barr Lake Birding Festival. Lots of
informational booths and activities for the whole family. Visits to the
banding station will be scheduled at the Bird Conservancy booth rather than
through our website.

Sunday we return to our normal scheduling process for visitors. if you
would like to visit, we have one-hour slots (up to 15 visitors at a time)
from 7:30-8:30 most weekday mornings (Tues-Fri, we are closed on Mon) and
8, 9 , and 10 a.m. one-hour time slots on the weekends. Click here
