Jamsheer, nice to see positive feed !
AICT : you need to get off at the bus stop after kaloor (manorama, i think) the one
next to the church where there is the big mass on tuesday evenings. next ask anyone
for Azad road , its rught at the bus stop junction. ~1km into Azad road towards the
left is this side road called Ashram lane. I believe AICT is the last building on
Ashram lane, at the very end of the lane. (I might be wrong).
It is however not fixed that that will be the venue - it might be or it could be at
another place. Let us wait for these things to get settled, they will. In teh mean
time there are some other things :
We need to let more people know about the UG. I am sure that there are more people
with a good technical bend of mind out there. I know a few folk I will invite them. If
you have friends i think you should let them know too. This is important. Maybe ~15
people to start you be a decent number.
One of teh reasons why there is no official link is that the group is very small and
it is yet to built an ecosystem that UGs have. It its nascent state it is still too
person dependant - a few people drop off and the group maynot sustain itself. there is
too little of ecosystem here as only individual and no species or food chains :) This
will happen after we reach a critical mass of 50-100 folk.
what do you ythink ?
Jamsheer please let friends back here know about this. Any ideas on how we can get
through to some more interested folk... the right people should know, joining is
definitely upto them. and this does not have to exclusively .net - there are a lot of
technologies that form a matrix together, we have much wider scope.
intially there arent too many roles also - i am personally against that idea. we will
need someone to talk about things (which there will be plenty when we have a place to
get started, beacuse good programmers fundamentally like to flaunt it).
any inputs about what else can be done ?
will tehre be anything that would be nice to give around at teh first meeting when we
have one? like .net primer kit cds, any particular topics covered etc ?
cheers
rosh

About UG meeting: I think it is very good idea to have a presentation from well known
personalities like Jayakrishnan. The members of this group are very lucky to have
members like you - Jayakrishnan Sir.
If AICT can give a seminar hall for us, then what else we need..? That is best place
to conduct our meetings. I fully support this decision.
Someone please post a route map to this Institute.
Then we must ensure maximum participants. Currently we have very small number of
members. This group needs more members, for this, I think Deepak_MS can help us.
Microsoft must declare us as the official .NET group from Kochi and must give a link
to our group in MSDN India. Then only we can reach maximum people. Deepak, Please help
us.
Unfortunately I can't attend the UG meeting, currently I'm in an onsite-assignment.
But, for the success the UG meetings, let me know what I can do from here. I'm very
happy to work for this group.
I think we need some volunteers for the UG meetings.. respected members, pls come
forward.. we need you.
Managers, now we got ( or will get ) a place for our UG meeting, next please decide
how many members are needed as volunteers and their responsibilities etc.
members, pls post your opinion.
