By comparing different technologies, as a learner, surely you will get new ideas from it. that is my point here. I started my career in Java. I used to visit TheServerSide regularly, there u can see such discussions daily comparing .NET and J2EE. if I was considering all those things as Noise, surely I didnt get any chance to know more about .NET, I started learning .NET by comparing J2EE with .NET, then slowly moved to touch .NET.. and studied more, read all whitepapers from ObjectWatch, compared Petstore and so on .now I feel very strong base in both .NET and J2EE. This was the case of my Linux knowledge also. I never got chance use Linux, I know only how to compare it with Windows When the discussion turns to individuals, then I think you need an option for unsubscribing that thread..that`s all.
