thanks for all the replies, i had him cut short to get rid of all the mats. now he looks like a little tan poodle! he is still adorable. i wasn't sure what person who replied meant when they said there was a "right" way to brush him. i deleted all my mail so i can't find who told me. i would be interested in knowing the best way to care for his adult fur so i don't have to keep him short.
