My cockapoo (who is 15 months) had allergies too. I switched her to Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato formula, and after a few weeks her itching was reduced a lot. When I had tried lamb formulas (which claim to be anti-allergenic) - her itching increased. The fish has oils in it to help her skin and is least common for allergies. Wellness just introduced new anti-allergenic food which has one protein (venison or duck) and only one carb - you may want to try that as it limits the ingredients substantially.
She still itches with the Fish formula, but much less than before. I also try to keep her treats to natural treats like chicken liver and Wellness treats. And, I use oatmeal shampoo and rinse when I give her a bath.
Hope this helps.
