Same thing happened to Sampson too in his puppyhood, with kennel cough, ear infections etc. My vet had given me something for the cough from his office, which at the moemnt I can't remember what it was, but it made him sleepy...It took about 2 weeks to go away with the right meds...the ear infection held on for a while, and I had to put meds in his ears every day for over a month...to this day he's still sensitive about his ears...but he's heathy as a horse now...

Chloe too had kennel cough. It cleared up in about 2 weeks max. With her getting relief after about 2 -3 days. I gave her robitussin DM which my vet recommended to ease her cough.
Don't fret. Things will get better. Chloe had a long list of things wrong w/her when I first got her as well. Kennel cough, worms, ear infection. And she is fine and healthy now.
