Hi everyone!
I know from reading that many here have had their dogs for many
years and some sell. So I am hoping you could give me a little
advice/opinion on what you think might be going on with our puppy.
I have posted before about her (not health issues) but will give a
quick refresher. She is 14.5 weeks old and is 4 lbs. We have had
her for 10 days. Like all the others on the board she is soooo
sweet, super smart and just the cutest thing! But we are starting
to get worried. She is going back to the vet tomorrow at 2:30 but I
was looking for other opinions in the meantime.
We brought her home last Saturday. All is fine until she starts
bleeding drops of blood after she poops on Wednesday. We bring her
to the vet on Wednesday and are told she has coccidia (hope I
spelled that right). We started her on a 10 day antibiotic. That
same night she started acting like she was chocking/gagging on
something. This went on for 10 minutes! Just gagging, gagging,
gagging. She then stopped and went about her business of playing.
Now for the last 6 days at least 3-4 times a day she starts chocking
and gagging. Nothing has ever come up. Sometime it is for a few
seconds other times it is a good 10-15 minutes. Also she does this
strange peeing thing. She is excellent at housetraining!! Will
usually go to the door and whine or scratch. She sleeps through the
night. But she goes through these strange spurts where she will pee
very bright yellow and then start peeing large amounts of clear
(like water) urine and then a final pee of yellow. This happens in
like a 15 minute time period. It is usually about 4-5 pees in that
time. The vet wants to look at her tomorrow but said she has not
heard of a puppy doing that before with their urine and thinks the
cough could be kennel cough. Any ideas what may be happening with
her????? ANY and ALL thoughts/opinions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
lisa
