Just wondering, why isn't the "average cocoon user" reluctant to write complex xpath or xslt code as well as Java?
Because Cocoon makes it so easy to write very powerful things with simple xpath and xslt, that having to go back to a compiler and deploying classes is a very heavy process compared to the save-and-reload-in-browser cycle allowed by XSLT and the sitemap and other scripting languages.
