I totally agree. Apache is a quality brand. It is 
somewhat conservative and that's good. You can bet your
business on it, because it will maintain software for
years to come. Apache should not host code, it is
not willing to maintain.

It is a privilege for a project to be hosted by
ASF.

Cocoon should not depend on sourceforge. But I have no problem
with sourceforge projects depending on cocoon. 

Hopefully any sourceforge committer has a private backup of the
essential source code. If sourceforge stops operating, projects
can move. There are other places to host projects.
