Ability to output to multiple devices and i18n allows for future expansion. I've written logicsheets (tag libraries) to communicate with our j2ee beans, so now even our gui developers can create/modify our XSPs. Also because of MVC separation, I can hand-craft XML page and give it to gui developer so he/she can start on the XSLT while I create and test XSPs, java, tags, whatever to generate that XML.
