Pyglet is lower level. I'd say start with cocos2d for a while.

Thanks for your reply Winston. You have made everything a lot more clear 
now. I will go ahead and learn cocos2d on Python and hopefully sometime 
soon start learning the objective-c language to make the transition. Thanks
