OK I fixed it, the documentation in the CODA-HOWTO is incorrect, it says
to do:

createvol_rep coda:root E0000100 /vicepa

it's just supposed to be root not coda:root


kick ass, it's working :) thanks to everyone for the help and thanks to
Phil for doing the kernel part so I didn't have to ;)

How is the Solaris client port going?  I remember seeing something
mentioned about it in the 5.3.2 release message but I can't find any
documentation on it...
