Texas A&M University Libraries seeks a creative and dynamic professional to 
join the Texas A&M University Libraries as a User Experience and Digital 
Projects Librarian. We are hiring one individual for a full-time position with 
an 11-month academic appointment. This is a tenure-track/tenured position with 
research and service expectations. Applicants will be considered for the 
faculty titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor depending 
on qualifications.

Reporting to the Dean through the Associate Dean for User Services and the 
Service Design Librarian,  the User Experience and Digital Projects Librarian 
partners with University Libraries’ collaborators to move an idea through 
project management workflows for web and digital projects. They will gather 
product requirements for web and digital library projects, participate in 
content strategy and strategic planning for the Libraries’ web ecosystem, and 
facilitate the Digital Project Management Team. As a part of the web team, they 
will create and design web experiences and develop content for the Libraries’ 
websites. This person will design and conduct user testing and assessment 
activities for the online user experience.

Tenure-track responsibilities include engaging in research activities leading 
to publications and national service to meet both the Libraries’ and the 
University’s requirements for tenure and promotion.

Required Qualifications:

·         Master’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science from an 
ALA-accredited institution (or international equivalent)

·         Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service for 
Library and external customers, including creating inclusive and respectful 
environments

·         Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and 
culturally diverse environment

·         Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills complemented by the 
ability to take initiative

·         Experience with web development and technologies (eg: HTML, CSS, 
Agile, Jira/GitHub)

·         Knowledge of Section 508, ADA, and accessibility standards

Desired Qualifications:

·         Experience with project management

·         Experience with Library technology (eg: discovery systems, OAI-PMH, 
digital repositories)

·         Experience with the digital needs of galleries, library, archives, 
museum, and special collections

·         Experience in UX design

Salary/Benefits: Faculty rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications 
and experience; minimum starting salary will be $50,500. Excellent benefits
