This would be easy to do. I doubt it would make a difference here but I could be wrong, and there might be other benefits I'm not aware of. I'm currently working on trying to reproduce this problem by playing with build settings and running on different versions of iOS. So far I haven't been successful. (Logging working fine for me in all cases).
