"It's really hard to grow a company on 19USD or 79USD."

My thoughts on this, as a LWUIT/CN1 user from way back, but who does mobile
as a sideline

(1) the main issue you have in getting people to use CN1 is that the
"native" L&F is not actually native widgets but is CN1's best effort to
emulate them. For me this is not an issue because
(2) CN1 is about the only tool that allows the creation of an identical L&F
across all platforms, which IMO is a major benefit - it's MY app, not
Google's or Apple's or Microsoft's. So long as I don't try an implement
some weird UI paradigm, I don't see why my app must slavishly follow the
vendors L&F.
(3) The only way I can see CN1 getting huge adoption is if an "Angry Birds"
or similar was developed with CN1, which would generate lots of developer
mindshare. (2) above is a huge plus for a wildly successful app in that the
app is functionally identical across all platforms, and (1) above is
irrelevant - people will expect the app to run identically across all
platforms.
(4) because of the way (2) is implemented in CN1, the fidelity of the app
is far greater than any apps that essentially wrap a browser widget (and
therefore don't adhere to native widgets L&F anyway), so this is a great
plus for CN1.

I realise none of this is particularly relevant to Gareth's desire to use
Javascript.
