Damn, I thought someone might say that. So basically it comes down to whether I should change 1000+ instances of the “load” command – or just get stuck with having to modify coldspring slightly with every new release. I may actually change the 1000+ instances – since it seems to be an easy find/replace.

Yes! Your application can only be deployed on a modified version of the framework.  I really recommend not modifying core framework files on any framework as it makes your application less flexible.
