Correct me if i'm wrong, but just doing a global search and replace to update all the absolute package references in the ColdSpring distro should fix it. I.e. replace "(coldspring[./])" with "my.custom.package.\1".
Again, hardly an ideal situation, but it seems like it'd be a pretty painless way to go, since upgrades to ColdSpring's codebase within your app are probably pretty infrequent.
