I definitely agree. I don't want to be coding around old (this one is
from 2003!) bugs in CF. I do think it would be a case-by-case thing
though, and if this is the tiny fix that it looks like it will be, I
don't see much harm in it, as long as it's not taken as a "precedent".

Out of curiosity, should the code base really be fixed to support
"old" versions of MX 6.1? It seems like the correct solution would be
to mandate that you're on the latest 83762 patch level for MX 6.1.
Otherwise you're going to run into a situation where people are on all
different patch levels and you'll open yourself up for "well you fixed
the code for this version, why can't you do it for that one?". Check
this page out for the hotfixes available for MX 6.1:
