After short deliberation, looks like this is a "won't fix". Thanks for everyone's insight and patience.
 
CSP-60 is closed in our issue tracker, and I see the ModelGlue ticket is closed as well.

Totally agree (and I said the same on the ColdSpring list).

Working around bugs in implementations isn't the right approach for any
framework, IMO.
