Yes, the last two years of my existence have revolved around getting all
things ColdFusion working on an application server and a JVM that aren't
officially supported.  Just call me Maverick (not a Top Gun reference,
but another movie).

...and you're on JBoss... hmm, well, I don't need to say "that's not
supported" because you already know that. However, I'm not sure why it
would affect return types like that.

The only thing I know that messed up return type handling in that exact
way was due to a bug in a hot fix... Sorry I can't be more help.
