Student Sponsorship Program
at the
Fourth Latin American Symposium on Nuclear Physics;
Mexico City, Mexico, September 24-28, 2001
============================================================================
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the
NSF Americas Program to sponsor students to attend the Fourth Latin
American Symposium on Nuclear Physics. This conference will convene in Mexico
City, Mexico at the Colegio Nacional on September 24-28, 2001. For
additional information on this conference, please consult the website
http://sci.utep.edu/simposio/simposio.html
The conference covers all areas of nuclear physics, including applied nuclear
physics.
The NSF grant will provide financial aid to students who wish to attend the
Mexico City Workshop. Students from any country in Latin America as well as
from
the United States are welcome to apply. Committed cost-sharing from the
prospective student's advisor will strengthen his/her request for funds from
this grant.
We invite students who are pursuing or are strongly interested in pursuing
graduate studies in all areas of nuclear physics to submit a curriculum vita,
cover letter, and a letter of recommendation from the student's advisor. We
ask that the submissions be electronic (e-mail with attached postscript or pdf
files).
Please submit the files both to Dr. Philip Cole ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and to
Dr. David Ernst ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
The deadline for the applications is Aug. 15. Notification of successful
applicants will follow soon thereafter. We are looking forward to a
successful conference!
Sincerely,
Philip L. Cole
