well, bowie is a "trend-follower", but he has been a "trend-setter" as well.
just think his stuff from early seventies, the stuff with iggy pop and the
things done wit eno and fripp (as has already been mentioned).
also many other artists jumped on the jungle-wagon as well: bjrk, en vogue,
many other rnb artists with dnb remixes and shit. and still i don think
- say - bjrk as shit music becaus she - or bowie - has taken influences.
who hasnt?
dancingwise, when on a proper condition (punch drunk that is), harsh and
crude dnb is brilliant stuff, but at home id rather listen to any bjrks
or dawid bowies jungle interpretations than technical itch.

thats true, but are all the "original" tracks always that brilliant and
creative always? i tend to think that with any musical genre, be it dnb,
dteroit techno, breaks and beats, punk rock, classical, whatever, at least
90% of it is crap. call me music-hater and the one who spoils the party if
you like. im just being critical.

true. and what is "real" then? there is a hell lot of relativity in the
concept.

he is. most of amons stuff aint drumnbass.
